Abstract:
This article presents the AI Change Lab as a literature- and discourse-based workshop concept for quality-assured teaching of generative AI use in higher education that has undergone initial formative testing. It responds to the gap between students‘ everyday use of AI tools and often abstract institutional rules. We propose quality judgement competence as a working term: students learn to plan, assess and take responsibility for AI-supported tasks by using explicit academic, methodological, learning-related and ethical criteria. This article explains the development of the concept within the DigitalChangeMaker track Shaping AI, describes the AI Change Lab’s quality cycle, and reports initial descriptive results from the formative evaluation.
