Abstract:
Since 2022, some state higher education acts in Germany have introduced the concept of science management as a new personnel category or task in their amendments. However, the regulations are still unclear in some aspects and differ considerably between the federal states. This article analyses and compares these regulations and discusses them against the backdrop of current debates on careers for early career researchers and European developments in research management.
