Abstract:
The acquisition of digital competences during studies is considered highly relevant. However, there is currently no meaningful picture of these competences among students in Germany. It is therefore not possible to transfer the results to small SAGE universities such as the Protestant University of Applied Sciences Berlin (EHB). The self-assessment of first-year students‘ digital skills was surveyed over a period of three semesters with the aim of creating an empirical basis for EHB students. This should enable the needs-based promotion of skills. The results show a positive assessment by the students. Weaknesses are identified in the competence dimension ‘content creation’. The qualitative analysis of the free-text responses helps to further refine the picture.
