Abstract:
Digitalization is currently having a major impact on universities. As a result, the concept of agility is also gaining ground. It is also finding its way into theories and practices of quality management (QM). In a project on the digitalization of tenure track appointment procedures at the University of Vienna, agile QM meets traditional QM practices and highlights the difference between the two approaches. Using a PDCA model with an agile focus, this experience of „agilization“ is analytically demonstrated for future QM projects. With the opportunities and limitations identified in the conclusion, the approach can be effectively used for specific QM settings.
