Abstract:
Universities want to be sustainable: teach sustainability (in the sense of ESD), but also teach sustainably. They want to organize themselves sustainably, and be structured sustainably. This article outlines the theoretical principles, approaches, and questions of an SDG-oriented self-evaluation of universities. It also points to the current science and higher education policy documents that such evaluations should be based on. It is recom-mended that the evaluation be based on the established evaluation formats and evaluation criteria of international development cooperation.
