Abstract:
In addition to subject-specific academic training, a university degree programme offers valuable opportunities for students to build and expand their interdisciplinary and personal skills. At the University of Freiburg, we created an easy-to-use skills check that helps students make their personal development more visible, strengthen their self-direction, and discover available university resources. Integrated into the university’s myUFR app, the self-assessment tool invites students – through a playful format – to evaluate 14 skills grouped into four “challenges”: organization, self-knowledge, complexity, and cooperation. This report presents the development of the tool and discusses insights gained from its initial phase of use.
