Abstract:
In Germany, the growing diversity of funding and rising demands on project success increase the need for qualified evaluations. At the same time, there is a shortage of young social scientists with evaluation expertise. To address this, Goethe University offered the interdisciplinary workshop “Evaluation – Qualified Assessment, Professional Reporting,” giving students practical insights into evaluation theory, methods, and professional practice. In local projects, students developed evaluation concepts in cooperation with project sponsors and experts. Initial results show the format strengthens theory-practice transfer, expands skills, builds networks, and fosters professionalization. The article outlines the workshop’s structure, process, results, and transfer potential.
