Abstract:
For years, there have been more applicants for Psychology degree programs than there are places available. Since winter semester 2022/23, a new specific selection test for psychology studies has been available, which is based on aptitude and offers significant added value for predicting academic success compared to the single use of GPA-grades. We report on the first implementation of the aptitude test and show the impact on the composition of the admission cohorts. We discuss the results, limitations and prospects for test-based admissions in Psychology degree programs.
