Abstract:
In Switzerland, study counselling is provided by a wide range of actors, including public services, higher education institutions, and independent counsellors. Multiple pathways lead into higher education, reflecting the country’s highly permeable education system. For over 60 years, AGAB has been connecting professionals in this field, promoting exchange, professional development, and networking among all relevant stakeholder groups. Given the decentralised nature of public counselling, providing platforms for exchange and maintaining a broad network are central priorities for AGAB. Recent activities have included contributing to the relaunch of the Swiss qualification profile for counsellors and advocating for career management competencies.
