Abstract:
For around two decades, creativity as a characteristic of design and development processes has been attracting increased attention in research and organizational practice. Due to rapidly changing, often unpredictable framework conditions, openness to unfamiliar approaches, a willingness to take risks and a spirit of trial and error are becoming increasingly important. People with these qualities are therefore indispensable for innovation and the capacity for change in organizations. In this article, I focus on areas of tension that often arise in teams and for managers as a result of precisely these personality traits. Based on the Big Five personality model, I distinguish five typical causes of conflict and suggest suitable solutions for each.
