Abstract:
Higher Education Professional Service Staff are generally critical of their professional situation. The dissatisfaction relates not only to the level of income and the uncertainties associated with fixed-term contracts, but also to the (lack of) opportunities for personnel development, the management culture and the process organisation, which is perceived as unsatisfactory at many universities. The difference in status compared to academic staff, which is often perceived as disparaging, is also criticised across the board.
