Abstract:
The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the transition to virtual and hybrid work, creating new challenges for communication, collaboration, coordination, and leadership. This article examines how agile methods can support virtual teams in addressing these challenges. Using the Quality Management Office of the University of Konstanz as a case study, it analyses the introduction of digital collaboration tools, Kanban-based task management, structured communication formats, and iterative feedback processes. The findings show that agile practices, combined with clear rules, continuous reflection, and transformational leadership, foster self-organisation, team cohesion, and effective collaboration in hybrid work environments.
