Abstract:
Universities face mounting transformation pressure from digitalisation, artificial intelligence, demographic change and shifting stakeholder expectations. Agile management is widely seen as a response, yet implementations often stop at tools and formats while the cultural and psychological preconditions remain unaddressed. This article argues that agility only becomes sustainably effective in higher education when it is understood as a cultural principle rather than a method set. As a conceptual key, the authors introduce Transformational Skills – emotional self-regulation, reflexivity, ambiguity tolerance and purpose orientation – and develop a practice-oriented framework for post-agile change management in higher education.
