Abstract:
While the concept of the agile organization has attracted interest in companies, the higher education system continues to adhere to New Public Management. Yet, universities face similar challenges as businesses and possess significantly better prerequisites for moving away from hierarchy. However, there are external and internal conditions that hinder the change toward an agile university organization. It is not expected that these will be overcome in the foreseeable future.
