Abstract:
Ongoing social, technological, and educational transformations increasingly impact higher education and its quality management. This article discusses how evaluations can effectively enhance learning, ensure quality, and strengthen feedback processes. It draws on current expert debates within the 28th DeGEval Annual Conference “Institutionalization and Professionalization of Evaluation” (DeGEval 2025), virtual forums, and professional societies addressing the professionalization of evaluation in higher education. Despite current challenges, greater academic integration, support for emerging evaluators, and improved evaluation quality are essential to ensure meaningful use and usability of evaluations.
