Abstract:
This article presents a pilot project of St. Pölten UAS in the field of research assessment, which was carried out as a prototype for the first time in 2023 and is now being further developed. The procedure, based on a learning agreement with external experts (so-called critical friends), represents an opportunity to conduct the evaluation of research units using a qualitative approach. The paper explains the motivation for this prototype, embeds the format in current context and (policy) developments and reports on specific features and challenges. Finally, it provides an in-depth reflection on the pilot phase and an outlook on future improvements.
