Eine kritische Überprüfung des eigenen Qualitätsmanagementsystems in Studium und Lehre
Abstract:
In 2024, FOM University of Applied Sciences reviewed its quality management system, focusing on the interplay between agility and compliance with accredited processes. An external auditor evaluated four projects – including the implementation of hybrid teaching during the pandemic and the introduction of project modules with individualized study phases of academic mentoring – regarding the degree of agility and quality cycles. The results demonstrate that universities must remain flexible in responding to external requirements while simultaneously ensuring adherence to legal and accreditation obligations. The analysis suggests that sustainable university development is not achieved through maximum agility, but rather through a careful balance between flexibility, quality assurance, and the availability of resources. These findings call for an expanded understanding of quality, that incorporates agile elements more strongly and challenges complex procedures and detailed ex-post reports.
